Safe Space was founded in 2012 by a collective of citizens concerned about the increase in harassment incidents in Omaha's nightlife community. Three years later, Safe Space Nebraska achieved 501(c)3 status thanks to the work of an engaged staff of volunteers who are committed toward working for real change and progress for the safety of everyone who wants to enjoy a fun night out.
Lynn Johnson-Romero grew up in Omaha and works as an educator in a local public school system. She has been an activist since her high school years and hopes to inspire a younger generation to take an active role in their community.
Megan Hunt is a writer, speaker, and serial entrepreneur who has built a reputation as a leading innovator and voice for women in startups in the Midwest. Megan loves living in Omaha with her daughter, and devotes her time to civic activism and supporting local entrepreneurs and creatives.
Brent Crampton is a local DJ, event promoter and venue owner. He’s been active in creating nightlife in Omaha for over a decade, and has been an advocate for all inclusive environments at this events. Crampton has collaborated with countless arts & community organizations over the years to help make Omaha a more culturally progressive city.
